167 Steuben Street in Bridgeport, CT 06608 is a proposed mixed‑income residential redevelopment of the historic Waltersville School site, converting the early 20th‑century school structure into approximately 70 rental homes with a mix of one‑, two‑, and three‑bedroom units designed to serve a range of income levels, including units affordable at 30 %, 50 %, 60 %, and 80 % of the area median income and one market‑rate unit. The project also plans to demolish a neighboring garage to make room for additional surface parking and support site access improvements. Located on a 1.57‑acre parcel, this adaptive reuse initiative contributes to Bridgeport’s downtown and neighborhood revitalization goals by preserving historic architecture while delivering new residential opportunities.
